JULIE DWYER, MSc, PhD (c)

Founder

Julie Dwyer is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Health Psychology, pain researcher, entrepreneur, ultramarathoner, certified meditation and fitness instructor, and speaker. Through her business, she has trained over 30,000 people using evidence-based approaches to wellness and performance.

She is the founder of Centre for Mindfulness NL Inc., the first training company of its kind in Eastern Canada, specializing in evidence-based wellness education and consulting. Julie partners with community groups, corporate organizations, athletes, and individuals to build systems that support sustainable success. She is a trusted advisor in the areas of process, performance, implementation and psychological wellbeing.

Julie holds graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Epidemiology, and is currently completing her PhD in Experimental Psychology (Behavioural Medicine) at Memorial University, where her research focuses on health and wellness. She previously earned her MSc from the University of Edinburgh, where she received formal training in mindfulness-based interventions.

Julie has completed advanced international training in mindfulness, somatic skills, trauma-informed care, and mental performance. In recognition of her leadership and impact, she was named one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Business for 2025 and was awarded the 2024 Newfoundland Labrador Health Services Quality Healthcare Scholarship— the largest research award from NLHS. A lifelong learner, she is passionate about making evidence-based education engaging, accessible, and empowering.
